The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

A map detailing Snow Emergency Routes may be viewed here.

7/20/2016 - Sedalia Historic Preservation Commission Public Participation Forum

Sedalia Historic Preservation Commission Public Participation Forum

You are Invited!

On June 22, 2016, Sedalia became the newest "Certified Local Government" in the State of Missouri as announced by the National Park Service. A Certified Local Government (CLG) is one that has been determined to have made a commitment to historic preservation. That commitment is evidenced in the City of Sedalia's adoption of a preservation ordinance and designation of a Sedalia Historic Preservation Commission.

With certification in place, the Sedalia Historic Preservation Commission is now responsible for creating an official Preservation Plan to be considered by the City Council for adoption. You are invited to participate in a Public Preservation Forum on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. This meeting will take place in the Council Chambers of the Sedalia Municipal Building, 200 S. Osage Avenue, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The forum will include a brief presentation on the planning process followed by exercises to involve you in collecting information about your personal priorities and preferences in identifying and protecting our local historic landmarks, properties, neighborhoods and districts.
