The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

October 15-22 is Business Women's Week in Sedalia

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : Mayor Bob Wasson issued a proclamation today at City Hall designating October 15-22, 2007 as National Business Women's Week in Sedalia. 

Text of Proclamation

"WHEREAS: Working women constitute approximately 62.7 million of the nation’s work force and are constantly striving to serve their communities, their states, and their nation in civic and cultural programs; and

WHEREAS: Major goals of business and professional women are to elevate the standards for women in business and in the professions; to promote the interests of business and professional women; to bring about a spirit of cooperation among business and professional women of the United States; and to extend opportunities to business and professional women through education along lines of industrial, scientific, and vocational activities; and

WHEREAS: We salute the leadership of members of the Sedalia Business and Professional Women’s Organization in their many fields of endeavor and service to the community during this observance of National Business Women’s Week;

NOW THEREFORE, I BOB WASSON, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SEDALIA, MISSOURI, do hereby proclaim October 15-22, 2007, as “NATIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN’S WEEK” in the City of Sedalia, Missouri, and urge all residents in this community to join in this salute to working women by promoting and encouraging the celebration of the achievements of all business and professional women as they contribute daily to our economic, civic, and cultural purposes."
