The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

A map detailing Snow Emergency Routes may be viewed here.

Sedalia to Host DREAM Strategic
Plan Development Kick-Off Meeting

Sedalia, Missouri – The Downtown Strategic Plan will be the principal topic at the Strategic Plan Development Kick-Off and Annual Review meeting, Thursday, June 11 at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Building.  The strategic plan is part of the Downtown Revitalization and Economic Assistance for Missouri (DREAM) Initiative.  PGAV will also be providing an overview of work completed on behalf of Sedalia since the inception of the DREAM Initiative.

The Strategic Plan will serve as the guide to direct the downtown efforts.  It will contain the information that has been gathered and analyzed as part of the DREAM Initiative so far, and with input, use it to identify priorities and define projects so that implementation phases can progress.  The Plan requires a lot of public input and that input will be solicited with the help of facilitators from PGAV, the urban planning consultants that work with the State sponsoring agencies of DREAM.

It is critical that public input be solicited in this phase of the Initiative and interested persons are invited to attend and participate.

The DREAM Kick-off meeting is free and public input is welcome.

Former Governor Matt Blunt created the DREAM initiative to help small and mid-sized Missouri community’s access existing state assistance to programs to help with downtown revitalization and job creation efforts.  The DREAM Initiative allows communities to more efficiently and effectively engage in downtown redevelopment and revitalization and attract new private investment opportunities to the heart of their communities.
