EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES ACTIVATED

The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

Mayor Proclaims Constitution Week

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Mayor Mary Elaine Horn issued a proclamation designating September 17-23, 2009 as Constitution Week in Sedalia. 

Text of Proclamation

WHEREAS: September 17, 2009, marks the two hundred twenty second anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and

WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; and

WHEREAS: Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating the week of September 17th through September 23rd as Constitution Week;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mary Elaine Horn, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Sedalia in the State of Missouri, do hereby proclaim the week of September 17th through the 23rd as "CONSTITUTION WEEK" and ask our citizens to reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties and remembering that lost rights may never be regained.
