Keith Riesberg to be offered City Administrator Position in O’Fallon, Missouri

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI): City Administrator Keith J. Riesberg and the City of O’Fallon, Missouri have come to agreement on terms of a contract for his employment as the City Administrator of O’Fallon. The O’Fallon City Council expects to take formal action approving the contract with Mr. Riesberg at a special meeting of the Council later this month. His anticipated start date with the City of O’Fallon would be January 1, 2010.

Riesberg, who started with the City of Sedalia in April, 2005, will continue working with the City’s elected officials and senior staff to ensure a smooth transition period. His last day with the City of Sedalia is expected to be December 29, 2009.

Mayor Elaine Horn said, “Mr. Riesberg has helped the City of Sedalia focus our efforts on long-term growth and development. We have made great strides under his guidance and direction. Under Keith’s direction, senior staff has become stronger and shows an ever growing sense of team approach to all areas affecting the City. His counsel over the years on issues facing the community has been solid and focused. We cannot thank him enough for this guidance. I have appreciated his service and dedication to Sedalia. I am grateful for his advice and friendship to me personally. I know the community will join me in wishing Keith and his family well in this new chapter in their lives.”

During Riesberg’s tenure, the City has focused its efforts on expanding service to the public, rejuvenating Sedalia’s historic downtown, investing in the infrastructure and facilities to support economic development and forging partnerships with public and private entities to encourage investment in the community. The City also completed the 2008 Sedalia Master Plan – a comprehensive plan for guiding and directing future growth, implemented salary increases and benefit enhancements for City employees, completed the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) separation project, formed a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district and began construction of the downtown streetscape project.

“It will be a bitter sweet departure from Sedalia,” said Riesberg. “It’s been a pleasure working with dedicated elected officials in Sedalia and a professional staff that is committed to providing quality service to the citizens of our community. For me professionally and for my family, the opportunity to live and work in O’Fallon is one that simply can not be passed up. I look forward to working with Mayor Horn and City staff to make the transition to the next City Administrator as smooth as possible.”

Mayor Horn and the City Council will hold a reception in honor of Keith Riesberg following the City Council meeting on Monday, December 21, 2009. The public is encouraged to attend.
