Update on Feb. 25 Snowstorm-Related City Services
(SEDALIA, MISSOURI): As of 11:45 p.m. on February 28, all City streets are now open for traffic. This process has been very difficult because of the amount of snow, downed trees and limbs, power and cable lines, the need to get heavy equipment in residential areas and streets blocked with poorly parked and/or stranded vehicles.
City crews worked in 12 hour shifts, nonstop, 24 hours each day. The City is currently removing snow from streets where the accumulations had been plowed to the middle. By 7:00 p.m. tonight, March 1, crews should complete this final step.
The City will start removing obvious storm debris on Monday, March 4 with a subsequent press release issued before residential pickup of limbs. Trash pickup has been resumed although many alleys are still impassible requiring some pick up at the curb.
