(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : Mayor Bob Wasson recognized a shift of firefighters from the Sedalia Fire Department for going above and beyond the call of duty during a recent fire in Sedalia.  As a part of their response to an attic fire at the home of Mildred Knox on January 8, firefighters from the SFD B-shift took extra care to safeguard the personal belongings and family heirlooms that were in the home.

Sandy Jones, son-in-law of Ms. Knox, is a Commissioner for District 5 with the City of Sante Fe, New Mexico and contact the Mayor’s office to commend the outstanding efforts of the SFD.

Firefighters recognized by the Mayor were Micheal Hawkins, Matt Irwin, Melvin Lange, Kyle Rupe, Richard Satterwhite, James Stevenson, Bill Twenter, Shane Vansteenburgh, Jamie Volk, Barry White and Roger Wiskur. The SFD B-shift is under the command of Battalion Chief Paul Withers.
