The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

12/2/2014 - City Council Approves New City Position: Animal Services Manager

The Sedalia City Council has approved a new city position to oversee the animal shelter operation.  Applications are now being accepted.

The position will be under the supervision of the Sedalia Police Department and will oversee all animal shelter duties, including the two current animal control officers.  The new manager, when hired, will begin planning duties related to the management of the current animal shelter, and/or the new shelter, if the Heckart Foundation decides to turns the new shelter over to the City. Before actual management responsibilities begin, the manager will begin setting up a cadre of volunteers and start planning future shelter practices and activities.
