The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

Sedalia Deputy Fire Chief Greg Harrell Recognized by MU Pettis County Extension

During the MU Pettis County Extension Council’s annual meeting held on February 24, 2015, Deputy Fire Chief Greg Harrell was honored to receive two awards. The Extension Leaders Honor Roll (pictured left) is awarded to a community leader who actively supports the extension program. The Mergen Spirit of Extension award (pictured right) is given to a current extension council member who understands the mission of the extension and helps ensure the success of the organization’s programs through his or her volunteer efforts.
