EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES ACTIVATED

The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

Mayor Proclaims Week of the Young Child

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : Mayor Bob Wasson issued a proclamation today designating April 14-18, 2008 as Week of the Young Child in Sedalia. 

Text of Proclamation

WHEREAS, the Central Counties Child Care Community Group, other local organizations and child care providers, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, are celebrating the Week of the Young Child, April 14-18, 2008; and

WHEREAS, by calling attention to the need for high-quality early childhood services for all children and families within our community, these groups hope to improve the quality and availability of such services; and

WHEREAS, the future of our community depends upon the quality of the early childhood experiences provided to young children today; and

WHEREAS, high-quality early childhood services represent a worthy commitment to our children’s future;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bob Wasson, Mayor of the City of Sedalia, Missouri, do hereby proclaim April 14-18, 2008, as "The Week of the Young Child" in Sedalia, Missouri, and urge all citizens to recognize and support the needs of young children in our community.
