The City of Sedalia has activated the EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 as the National Weather Service has reported the potential for steadily falling temperatures with rain beginning late Friday afternoon, changing over to snow with accumulations from 1-3 inches overnight. Please click here to view the January 18, 2019 public service announcement issued by the City of Sedalia.

Drivers who routinely park on streets designated as Emergency Snow Routes will need to move their vehicles to other locations as snow is expected to accumulate during nighttime hours. City crews will be working overnight Friday to ensure Emergency Snow Routes remain open. Cars remaining parked on emergency snow routes may be towed or plowed in as crews work to keep these roadways open for emergency vehicles.

11/11/2015 - Veterans Day Parade Cancelled; Other Veterans Day Events Still Planned
Due to the threat of inclement weather, Sedalia's Veterans Day Parade has been cancelled. However, Smith-Cotton High School's JROTC still plans on holding their Veterans Day breakfast and ceremony tomorrow (breakfast starts at 7:45 a.m., the ceremony begins at 8:45 a.m.). The annual Veterans Day ceremony hosted this year by the VFW Post 2561 will also be held tomorrow inside the Pettis County Courthouse starting at 11:00 a.m. For more information regarding this event, please contact VFW Commander Larry Reven: (660) 826-4543.
